Students will be able to:

  • focus on folklore from different cultures
  • read various stories and identify the different elements
  • create their own folklore to explain the world around them
  • understand the properties of light and shadow

Give your child an opportunity to be a writer, choreographer and director of their own imagination. Students will explore folktales and use their knowledge to work together to create a shadow puppet show. They will collaborate and construct their own characters, setting, and the set! As a finale, students will showcase their shadow puppet show to families. This class will help students delve deeper into a text they read, develop creative writing skills, and execute their imagination into real life. Lastly, students will learn how to collaborate, communicate, create, and critically think with peers.
