Get Involved
Volunteering at your child’s school is a great way to get to know other families and school staff. Our school thrives with the support of dedicated volunteers who bring spirit and enthusiasm to our community. We appreciate your support!
Annual Fund Volunteer Opportunities
The Annual Fund is organized by the school's development office with generous volunteer support from parents and alumni. Our goal is for every member of our community to find meaningful engagement with the school and for each family to consider participating in our giving program.

FSA Volunteer Opportunities
The Family School Alliance (FSA) is our UCLA Lab School parent/caregiver organization. The FSA supports and coordinates community building activities in collaboration with school administrators, faculty and staff.
FSA meetings are held monthly. Check the portal calendar for details.

Carnival
- UCLA Lab School families convene annually on a Sunday in the Fall for fun, food, games, fellowship, and more in a lively atmosphere!
- ¡Las familias de UCLA Lab School se reúnen anualmente un domingo de otoño para divertirse, comer, jugar, compartir y más en un ambiente animado!

Black Heritage Celebration
- Black Heritage Celebration Committee hosts the annual Black History Celebration during the month of February which highlights people of color and their contributions and achievements throughout American history to present day. The committee also organizes year-round events for the entire community that center and celebrate Black culture.
- El Comité de Celebración de la Herencia Negra organiza la Celebración anual de la Historia Negra durante el mes de febrero, que destaca a las personas de color y sus contribuciones y logros a lo largo de la historia estadounidense hasta el día de hoy. El comité también organiza eventos durante todo el año para toda la comunidad que centran y celebran la cultura negra.

Book Fair / La Libreria
- In the fall we host a pop-up book store at school. Books in English and Spanish are available to purchase for children and adults, as well as for donating to classrooms and the library.
- En el otoño organizamos una librería temporal en la escuela. Los libros en inglés y español están disponibles para comprar para niños y adultos, así como para donar a las aulas y la biblioteca.

Caring Committee
- The Caring Committee is here to help and supports the whole Lab School community in any of life’s changing and challenging events, such as illness, death of loved one, or a family celebration of the birth of a little one. Life takes a village and we are all in this together.
- El Comité Caring está aquí para ayudar y apoyar a toda la comunidad de Lab School en cualquiera de los eventos cambiantes y desafiantes de la vida, desde enfermedad, muerte de un ser querido o una celebración familiar del nacimiento de un pequeño. Community Traditions
- The Community Traditions committee creates space and opportunities for our community to honor, celebrate, and share their diverse traditions. The goal is to continue to foster a sense of community at Lab School and learn from each other.
- El comité de Tradiciones de la Comunidad crea espacios y oportunidades para que nuestra comunidad honre, celebre y comparta sus diversas tradiciones. El objetivo es continuar fomentando un sentido de comunidad en Lab School y aprender unos de otros.

Fit Day
- Fit Day is dedicated to student activities that celebrate fitness and healthy lifestyle choices. Our school gathers at Drake Stadium and UCLA students from the soccer team and track and field team lead activities with the students.
- El Día del Ejercicio está dedicado a las actividades estudiantiles que celebran el buen estado físico y las opciones de estilo de vida saludables. Se lleva a cabo cada año en el invierno. Nuestra escuela se reúne en el Estadio Drake y los estudiantes del equipo de fútbol de UCLA y el equipo de atletismo dirigen actividades con los estudiantes.

Green Committee
- The Green Committee inspires and empowers students to care for the environment through hands-on education, trash-free lunches, recycling programs, gardens and earth tips. We look for ways to integrate sustainable living at school and at home.

Party Book
- Party Book events bring families together for socializing and supporting our community. Parents plan and host parties throughout the year with various themes. The funds raised cover many of the FSA activities and events. Parties can be for parents or students.
- Los eventos de Party Book reúnen a las familias para socializar y apoyar a nuestra comunidad. Los padres planifican y organizan fiestas durante todo el año con varios temas. Los fondos recaudados cubren muchas de las actividades y eventos de la FSA. Las fiestas pueden ser para padres o estudiantes.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation
- This committee organizes special celebrations for our UCLA Lab School teachers, staff and administrators to show how much we appreciate them and all they do.

Together Through Music and Dance
- This committee helps to coordinate a celebration of cultural diversity, with each classroom performing a different dance from around the world. Committee members work with teachers to choose the type of dance, provide support at rehearsals and help organize a community potluck breakfast that takes place on the morning of the celebration. This event is held each year in May.
- Este comité ayuda a coordinar una celebración de la diversidad cultural, donde cada salón presenta un baile diferente de todo el mundo. Los miembros del comité trabajan con los maestros para elegir el tipo de baile, brindan apoyo en los ensayos y ayudan a organizar un desayuno compartido comunitario que se lleva a cabo en la mañana de la celebración. - This committee designs, orders and sells merchandise featuring the UCLA Lab School name and logo. Show your school pride and help others do the same!

Yearbook
- The yearbook team collects and takes photographs of events in and out of the classroom and organizes the content and distribution of the yearbook. Help capture the memories of these special years!
