Tangled & Twisted: A Summer of Sculpting and Weaving
Ages 7-10, entering grades 1-4 in the fall
Get ready to bend, twist, weave, and create! In this playful, hands-on art class, students will explore sculpting and weaving using exciting materials like wire, clay, yarn, fabric, and found objects. Each day invites creativity, imagination, and problem-solving as students transform simple materials into unique works of art.
Young artists will learn basic weaving techniques, experiment with shaping wire, and build small sculptures while developing fine motor skills, confidence, and artistic voice. Inspired by contemporary artists and natural forms, students will be encouraged to tell stories, express ideas, and take creative risks in a fun, supportive studio environment.
This class celebrates curiosity and process over perfection. Students will have opportunities to collaborate, reflect, and proudly share their creations while building a deeper appreciation for art-making. No prior art experience is needed—just a love of making, exploring, and getting a little messy.
