Students will be able to:

• Control a paper airplane with a smartphone

• Create Interactive games and/or stories

• Transform everyday objects into a touchpad using Makey Makey

• Create programs using pseudocode, loops, events, and conditionals

• Explore and practice algorithmic thinking

• Use physical manipulatives to model computational concepts

• Understand the ethical use of the Internet, programs, and networks

Have you ever wished you could program a robot to dance, tell jokes or imitate your moves? Or how about teaching a robot to create art? You can with a personal Robot Meccanoid G15 or a Doodling Robot! You will also build and assign missions to a LEGO Mindstorm EV3. This course is designed to help both girls and boys to begin to understand how the devices that play such a large role in their lives actually work! Experiences are designed to be exciting and engaging while students explore the limitless world of technology.
