We know that enrolling in a tuition based school is a significant financial commitment and represents a major investment in your child’s future. We encourage all families to consider UCLA Lab School regardless of your financial situation. In fact, one in three families at our school receives need-based tuition support. We encourage you to apply.

How to Apply for Tuition Support

Tuition support must be applied for on an annual basis. To make decisions in a fair and equitable manner, UCLA Lab School requires that  prospective and returning families complete the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) and submit federal tax returns through a third-party need analysis service called the School and Student Services (SSS) annually.

Based on the information you provide, SSS calculates an estimated amount that your family can contribute to educational expenses.

  • STEP 1: Indicate Interest in Tuition Support

    Indicate interest in applying for tuition support when asked on the admissions application.
  • STEP 2: Complete the online tuition support application

    Beginning September 29, 2023, go to the SSS website

    New Families
    Once you are on the SSS website, create a username and password and then click on the prompt to begin the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). Please take the time to gather the required information prior to beginning the PFS and don’t worry if you are unable to complete everything at once. You can log into your account to complete the PFS in more than one session.

    New student SSS applications must be submitted no later than January 12, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PST. Be sure to indicate that UCLA Lab School (SSS code 9224) should receive a copy of the results.

    Returning Families
    If you are a returning family applying for a sibling and have applied for tuition support in the past, please use the email address and password you previously set up and log into the PFS online as a returning family.

    Returning student SSS applications must be submitted no later than December 15, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. PST. Be sure to indicate that UCLA Lab School (SSS code 9224) should receive a copy of the results.

  • STEP 3: Submit Documents


    January 12, 2024 is the deadline for families to complete the tuition support application and submit all 2021 and 2022 supporting materials to SSS
    .

    After paying for and submitting your Parents’ Financial Statement, you will gain access to the “My Documents” tab in your portal.
    Here, you can view the list of required documents for your selected school(s) and their deadline dates, upload your files, and track documents you’ve submitted and those still outstanding.

    If you decide to mail your documents to SSS, please print out and include the SSS cover sheet in the envelope with your documents and mail them to:
